Amelie Tickets
Amelie, the beloved romantic comedy musical
Amelie the musical is of course based on the endearing movie of the same name. It's the story of a quiet, introverted young woman whose life consists of performing random acts of kindness as a way of life, always thinking of others and not of herself. All of a sudden, she gets a chance at love and realises that if it is to happen, she needs to examine what she wants for herself for the first time in her life. You can watch this utterly charming musical when you buy or sell Amelie tickets on StubHub.
A West End debut for Amelie
Amelie has begun a hugely anticipated first run at The Other Palace at St James Theatre, London, its first West End engagement after an initial tour of the UK in 2019. The musical was originally composed and written by New Yorkers Daniel Messé, Craig Lucas and award-winning Broadway musical lyricist Nathan Tysen. Since its debut in LA, it has played on Broadway and been staged as far afield as Finland and Japan. The West End production has cast Canadian actress Audrey Brisson in the title role of Amelie. She's an accomplished and well-rounded musical theatre performer who has played everything from tragic romantic roles like Juliet in Romeo and Juliet to the far more light-hearted, if somewhat neurotic, Jiminy Cricket in the musical production of Pinocchio at the National Theatre. She even performed as an acrobat and vocalist in the Cirque de Soleil! Hers is a wonderful portrayal of a completely lovable character, so don't miss this chance to get Amelie tickets while you still can.
A prodigious supporting cast
The West End musical production of Amelie has featured a strong supporting cast as well. Many plays that centre on a single character use minimalist sets and lighting and only a small handful of performers in order to focus audience attention on the inner world of the main character. This is hardly the case here, with a cast of over fifteen actors. Sophie Crawford and Oliver Grant, both of whom made excellent impressions in War Horse London are there, as are Rachel Dawson from The Jungle Book and Johnson Willis, who impressed in the dark comedy Harold and Maude. The musical numbers are superbly performed and choreographed, and they usually stay true to the original soundtrack. It's a warm and witty show, with a huge sense of heart. Amelie tickets provide a lavish evening out at the theatre, with the chance to watch one of the most popular cult classic movies skilfully adapted for the musical theatre.
