German pop star Lena Meyer-Landrut shot to fame in 2010 at the age of 19 when she won the Eurovision Song Contest. The song she performed, Satellite, earned Germany its first win since 1982. Not only did it propel her into the spotlight in Germany, but the song was also a hit across Europe, reaching the top of the charts in several countries. That same year, she released her debut album, My Cassette Player, which includes the songs Satellite, Love Me and Bee as well as several songs that she co-wrote. Where it all began for the singing sensation

Born in 1991 in Hanover, Germany, the singer is well-known for being selected over the course of eight weeks to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest. She had to perform a series of eight covers of well-known songs, including those by artists such as Adele, Kate Nash, Lisa Michell and Paolo Nutini. Her progress was broadcast on the television programme "Unser Star für Oslo", and she performed three original and potential songs for the competition, Bee, Love Me and Satellite on the final episode. All three songs subsequently made it into the top five of the German singles charts and paved the way for her success at the Eurovision Song Contest. Several albums followed as well as a role as one of the judges for the German talent show The Voice Kids. Her album, Crystal Sky, released in 2015, featured the single Traffic Lights, which was among the top 20 singles in the German Singles Chart.
