As I Lay Dying Tickets
Anthemic thrash metal from As I Lay Dying
As I Lay Dying is another in the long line of thrash metal California bands, known for their precise counterpoint guitar-work more than mere bludgeoning riffs. They're adept at the pentatonic arpeggios and soaring leads that made Iron Maiden so distinctive and blend them with a thrash attack that enters metalcore territory at times. Add anthemic choruses that recall POD and you'll know exactly what you can look forward to when you buy or sell As I Lay Dying tickets on StubHub.
An early hardcore punk foundation
As I Lay Dying ply roughly the same trade as probably their biggest influence, Killswitch Engage, with whom they've shared many a festival stage. They also carry more than a small dose of Sweden's massive latter-day metal export, In Flames. They came out of a hardcore punk foundation, with lead singer Tim Lambesis and Jordan Mancino, the band's drummer, having played in Point of Recognition previously. For some reason, from the outset they chose album titles that conveyed much more of a doom metal or even black metal flavour than a down the line thrash sound – their debut,"Beneath the Encasing of Ashes", could easily have been mistaken for the latest offering by Dimmu Borgir or even Cradle of Filth. But As I Lay Dying have always been something of a dark horse, as Lambesis would later go on to demonstrate all too publicly. Fans will know what we mean. As I Lay Dying tickets can be found on StubHub whenever the band is on tour.
A forced break and Wovenwar
Following an enforced break due to Lambesis experiencing some challenges in his personal life, to say he least, As I Lay Dying resumed with its original line-up in 2017. The other band members hadn't wasted the time in the interim, however, forming Wovenwar, playing a throwback type of late '70s pop metal that trod perilously close to bands like Asia, but saved by a harder edged sensibility thanks to the highly compressed, thudding staccato guitar riffs that '90s nu-metal introduced. Back together in As I Lay Dying, they returned to their more updated sound, and began collaborating with other thrash and metalcore bands like August Burns Red. This was followed by their "Shaped By Fire" tour, which spawned an album project of the same title to put the band back on the map. Any time they're playing a venue near you, check on StubHub for As I Lay Dying tickets. The hiatus has only heightened their urgency and amped up the energy of their live gigs. In addition, you can bet you'll get to see some more pretty good metal bands on the same bill.
