Prog metal with an urban twist

Polyphia's founding line-up of lead guitarist Timothy Henson, rhythm guitarist Scott LePage, drummer Brandon Burkhalter and frontman Lane Duskin first came together in 2010. The band quickly attracted attention for their genre-blurring approach to progressive metal, incorporating elements of pop, R&B and hip-hop into their shred-heavy sound. After the departure of Duskin and the recruitment of bassist Clay Gober in 2012, the band became a viral sensation when a track from their debut EP, "Inspire", racked up millions of YouTube views, leading to tours with high profile acts such as August Burns Red, Periphery and Between the Buried and Me. Polyphia released their debut album, "Muse", in 2015 and following the replacement of Burkhalter with new drummer Clay Aeschliman they issued their sophomore, "Renaissance", a year later. The group then embraced EDM with a remix of one of its tracks, "Light", before adding to their discography with 2017 EP "The Most Hated" and 2018 third studio effort, "New Levels New Devils". Crushing riffs, funky basslines, rapid-fire beats

With their ambitious blend of musical styles, Polyphia are no ordinary prog metal band on record. And they're no ordinary prog metal band when it comes to the stage either. With few vocals in their setlist, the band have to rely solely on their virtuoso musicianship to keep the audience captivated, a challenge they're more than capable of pulling off. Indeed, whether it's Henson's crushing riffs, Gober's funky basslines or Aeschliman's rapid-fire beats, Polyphia remain utterly compelling performers throughout their often mammoth setlists. Fans should expect to hear all the highlights from their studio albums and EPs, with "Champagne", "G.O.A.T." and "James Franco", the track named after the Hollywood actor, particular favourites.
