Wet Wet Wet Biography
Marti Pellow, Tommy Cunningham, Graeme Clark and Neil Mitchell came together at school to form their first group Vortex Motion. After performing at Glasgow's Nightmoves they were picked up by PolyGram Records and released their first single "Wishing I Was Lucky" in 1985, soaring straight to number six in the charts. The band's true commercial success came soon afterwards, with a cover of Beatles song "With a Little Help From My Friends" providing them, their first number one hit. 1992 saw another chart topper with "Goodnight Girl", but their peak arrived in 1994. "Love is All Around" was used on the soundtrack for Four Weddings and a Funeral and spent a remarkable 15 weeks at the top of the charts.
After commemorating a decade in the industry with seventh album Ten, the group disbanded, only briefly returning five years later for a series of greatest hits gigs. They're back again though, reliving the glory of their breakthrough record over 20 years ago, celebrating 30 together years as a band. With a couple of live dates set in the UK, including a spot at Edinburgh Castle. Grab your Wet Wet Wet tickets now on StubHub to hear all their most loved songs live once again.
Wet Wet Wet Musical
While there's little doubt regarding Wet Wet Wet's legacy, the idea of Wet Wet Wet going the same way as Take That, who recently had their own stage show musical treatment in the form of The Band, isn't such a stretch. With lead singer, Marti Pellow having recently hinted at an interest in the endeavour, in an interview with national treasure Lorraine Kelly, a Wet Wet Wet could certainly be on the cards. As mentioned earlier, with the band celebrating almost 30 years together, Wet Wet Wet may well make 2017 a year for Wet Wet Wet fans to remember.
