Villagers Biography - Destined for Bigger Things

Leaving his previous outfit The Immediate after a brief but highly celebrated career, this Irish hailing artist began searching for a new project. He began to pen new material while jumping in as the guitarist for Cathy Davey, developing his skills as a performer further. Bringing together a group of friends he sought to test out his new songs and after only two rehearsals the band was brought in as the support act at a gig by The Chapters. Touring their way across the UK and Ireland, the collective spent most of 2009 on the road, playing at esteemed festivals Electric Picnic and Latitude. Meanwhile, notable TV appearances helped to build their profile further.

By 2010 they were putting out their debut album Becoming a Jackal, which went on to earn a Mercury nomination and put the group on the map. With sophomore effort {Awayland} hitting shelves in 2013, the group are able to sell out large venues across the UK and Ireland.
