Vampire Weekend - The College Boys Come Good
Having burst out of the Brooklyn art-rock scene with their incredible debut self-titled album in 2008, these preppy indie-popsters have risen to become one of the best loved bands of their generation. This is in no small part down to their live shows, where frontman Ezra Koenig's sweet-as-sugar voice really comes into its own on modern classics like 'Holiday' and 'Oxford Comma'. With 2013 bringing their game-changing third album Modern Vampires of the City, the band's star is only set to soar even higher.

Vampire Weekend Biography - Modern Musical Innovators
Frontman Ezra Koenig, multi-instrumentalist Rostam Batmanglij, drummer Chris Tomson and bassist Chris Baio formed the band in 2006 after meeting at Columbia University. Their time at the institution inspired their 2008 self-titled debut album, with songs about campus life and loves becoming global smashes. For a while they were lumped along with MGMT as fellow bright new hopes from Booklyn, but while that band quickly disappeared into experimental territory, the Vampires became even bigger with 2010's Contra - although they got in a spot of bother after being sued by Ann Kirsten Kennis, the woman who featured on the album's cover.
After exploring various solo projects between albums - including Baio's DJing ventures and Koenig's collaborations with indie supergroup Discovery - the group reconvened in the studio in 2012. The result, Modern Vampires Of The City, moved their sound into emotional new areas while still boasting their trademark orchestral flourishes - and fans are going crazy for their Afro-pop sounds all over again.
