The group came together in 2003, as Sitek worked with multi-instrumentalist Kyp Malone and singer Tunde Adebimpe to release the Young Liars EP, shortly followed by their debut LP, Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes. Critical acclaim wasn't far behind after their debut was awarded the prestigious Shortlist Music Prize. Follow-up albums Return to Cookie Mountain, Dear Science and Nine Types of Light proved their adeptness at transcending traditional genres and producing musical innovations.
The quirky quartet have also branched out, working on individual projects, such as Sitek's production work with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, cementing both their influence and status within the industry - particularly on the Brooklyn scene.
