The Staves Biography - Folk Favourites Release Second Album If I Was
One of the most talked about folk acts in recent memory, this group have been making their mark on the British music scene since the release of their debut album Dead and Born and Grown in 2012.
As children growing up in Watford, three sisters Emily, Jessica and Camilla Stavely learned to harmonize by singing along to their parents favourite Americana records, including the timeless hits of Simon and Garfunkel and Nash and Young. Incorporating a very distinct transatlantic influence into their style, the teenagers made their live debut at an open-mike night at their local pub and were so well-received they were invited to perform a regular slot.
Supporting the likes of The Civil Wars and Bon Iver, the band received critical praise for their enigmatic live performances. Their second album, If I Was, received similar praise and was produced by Justin Vernon of the latter Canadian band. After a memorable Glastonbury debut, the band are now gearing up for a UK wide tour.
