Fresh from a two-year hiatus with a fifth album thought to be in the works, the Scranton set have unveiled Lookers, a retrospective EP to keep fans tiding over. Reminiscent of On the Impossible Past with its true-to-life lyrics, the track is a trip down memory lane for the Philly rockers' fans, and marks the band's first release since Rented World dropped in 2014. Already touring Canada and the US, the punk rock outfit have announced a number of UK dates, so fans this side of the Atlantic can enjoy their reckless, raucous sound too. The Menzingers - From Scranton Ska To Punk Rock Success
Though they're now based in Philadelphia, these punk rockers first formed in Scranton, Pennsylvania back in 2006. Comprised of local ska band members Tom May, Joe Godino, Eric Keen and Greg Barnett, their self-titled first EP found its way on to Go-Kart Records' books, leading to their debut album, A Lesson in the Abuse of Information Technology in 2007. The LP was a resounding success, and the band soon found a following with a steady stream of punk fans. A four-track EP, Hold on Dodge, followed in 2009 to much acclaim, before they teamed up with legendary producer Matt Allison to record their second album Chamberlain Waits. 2012 marked a more mature, reminiscent sound for the quartet, with the release of On the Impossible Past, which featured fan favourites 'Good Things' and 'The Obituaries'. The following year, the band brought out the critically acclaimed Rented World, which peaked at number one in the US Billboard vinyl albums chart.
