The Clone Roses have played all over the UK for more than 15 years. The Clone Roses are set to play at The Garage in Swansea and at the Sugarmill in Stoke. The group then moves to Flowerpot in Derby, King George's Hall in Blackburn, O2 Academy Islington in London, the Citadel in St. Helens, Waterside Arts Centre in Sale, and O2 Academy in Birmingham. Later in December, you can also see them live at the O2 Academy in Newcastle and The Witchwood in Aston Under Lyne. The O2 Academy in Leicester also plans to showcase The Clone Roses in the upcoming year.

The Clone roses are a group with a sense of humour. At one point on their Facebook page, the band listed "warm cans of Red Stripe" as the lone entry in their "interests" section.

Band

The band that The Clone Roses imitate, The Stone Roses, are an English band formed in Manchester in 1983. They also pioneered the Madchester movement during the '80s and '90s. They included the vocalist Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Mani, and drummer Reni. The Clone Roses' own "Ian Brown" is Gavin Scott, who has been playing as Brown for so long he probably wouldn't mind it if you called him by that name. Scott has over 15 years experience singing under the Ian Brown moniker, and is a former student of Crewe and Alsager College. The rest of the band consists of Tony Scott on the guitar, Mike Bagshaw on bass, and Phil Bennett on drums.

Breakthrough

The Stone Roses released their debut, self-titled album in 1989. It was the band's breakthrough success, with critics ranking it among the best British albums ever. The Clone Roses have long been regarded as the UK's most authentic tribute to The Stone Roses. Brown has a voice described as uncanny, and when paired with the talents of the other group members, the sound is just like that of the original band. The Clone Roses are often joined by the support of DJs, including Boon from Inspiral Carpets, as well as Shaun Ryder and Bez from Happy Mondays.

Hit Albums

The Clone Roses don't actually have an album of their own; it's all about The Stone Roses for them. Their shows regularly include hits off The Stone Roses albums, "The Stone Roses" and "Second Coming." The Stone Roses released their second album Second Coming through Geffen Records in December of 1994. They recorded the album at Forge Studios in Oswestry, Shropshire and Rockfield Studios in Wales from 1992 to 1994. Second Coming capitalised on the debut's success, selling over a million copies internationally and in the UK, and The Clone Roses used this to draw larger audiences as well. The album was The Stone Roses' last, but The Clone Roses continue to play their tunes as if the album were released yesterday.
