Parker and Stone first conceived the idea for this riotously funny show back in 2003, eventually bringing it to Broadway eight years later. The story follows two young missionaries from the Mormon settlement Salt Lake City, Utah as they embark on the most important assignment of their religious tutelage. Elder Price is a passionate preacher with dreams of making it to the top of the Mormon pecking order while his accomplice, Elder Cunningham is a hapless man of God with a tendency to stretch the truth. Together, they are sent to a poverty stricken village in Uganda to convert the citizens to the Church of Latter Day Saints.
