Scouting for Girls: from school pals to pop superstars

Roy Stride and Pete Ellard first met at Cub Scouts and would become friends with Greg Churchouse when he later joined their school. By the age of 15 the trio were playing at local gigs in their home turf of West London, but it was only at university that they found their sound and uploaded an early demo of "Heartbeat" on MySpace and Pulse Rated, the single for which they would win a BRIT Award in 2009. In 2007 the band were signed to Epic Records and with material ready to go, they quickly released UK number one debut EP It's Not About You which became the highest charting limited release EP in chart history. This was swiftly followed by the full self-titled album selling over 1 million copies in the UK and producing break through singles "She's So Lovely" and "Elvis Ain't Dead".

After two years of extensive touring the group returned in 2010 with second album Everybody Wants To Be On TV. The first single from the record, "This Ain't a Love Song" became their first UK number one while the album saw similar success, hitting the number two spot in the official charts. In 2012 the band released their third studio album The Light Between Us and after limited chart success they came back just a year later with a greatest hits compilation, giving them another top ten hit. After Stride spent a couple of years writing song for the likes of One Direction and McBusted, the band returned in 2015 to release fourth album Still Thinking About You and continue to tour the UK.
