Little Big Town Biography - Rising Up the Charts

The group formed when Alabama natives Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman met during their college years, singing alongside each other in the choir. The aspiring vocalists moved to Nashville separately in the late 1990s to pursue careers in the music industry. They soon decided to form a group, sourcing the talent of Jimi Westbrook and Phil Sweet to form the band as we know it today. The group began working on their soaring vocal harmonies, helping them to land a lucrative recording contract.

They released their first single 'Don't Waste My Time' in 2002 and gradually began to establish their wide American fan base. In 2005, Little Big Town hit the big time when their sophomore album The Road to Here spawned a string of hit singles including the ballad 'Bring It On Home', earning the group their first platinum certification. In recent years, the band have gone from strength to strength and continue to cement their reputation as an internationally successful American country music act.
