A three-man act often joined by additional musicians when playing live, Goat is an alternative music group that performs in full costume. However, the funky costumes are only part of the band's appeal. Fans are treated to eclectic music with tribal sounds, African tones and a psychedelic vibe at every show.

Fans looking for Goat tickets have chances almost every year, as the group does anywhere from four to 40 shows annually. The group has travelled more than 100,000 miles in recent years to perform for fans, making frequent stops in Atlanta, London, Sacramento, New York and Seattle. Goat often tours with the likes of Solange, Disclosure and Holy Wave. In addition to concert venues, Goat frequently plays at festivals such as the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts in the United Kingdom and the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the U.S.

Trivia

All of Goat's band members hail from Korpilombolo, a small locality in Norrbotten County, Sweden. The village is rather small, so it's not surprising that the band members managed to come together there. As of 2010, Korpilombolo only had about 529 residents, and according to the band, it has a curse hanging over its collective head. Legend has it that Christian Crusaders ran the village's voodoo worshippers out of town, and the village was cursed as a result of it. The band embraces this legend, using it to enhance its mysterious, unique air.

Goat named its World Music album based on the fact that it featured different types of music from around the world.

Band

Dubbed an alternative, experimental fusion band, Goat officially entered the music scene in 2010, releasing its first album in 2012. Unlike most bands, this one's identity remains shrouded in mystery. As rumor has it, the band is made up of musicians from multiple generations. Christian Johansson has been the only core member to reveal his identity, and the lineup is often advertised as Johansson and a group of seven unnamed performers. As with its members' identities, Goat isn't easily pinned down to a single genre. The group incorporates everything from worldbeat and afrobeat to hard rock and fusion into its music.

Breakthrough

Though Goat signed with Rocket Recordings in 1998, it didn't start selling albums until much later. Goat got its big break in 2012, when it released its first album, World Music. The album brought the band attention both locally and internationally, shooting to No. 8 on the Swedish National Record Chart.

Hit Albums

Goat's first album, World Music, is its most popular, since it made it to the top 10 of the Swedish National Record Chart. It features such songs as Goatman, Goathead, and Disco Fever. Its third album, Commune, made it to No. 17 on the same chart, featuring songs like Talk to God, GoatChild and The Light Within.

Show Experience

Goat only appears before its audiences in masks, wigs, and gypsy-like costumes. The band members prefer to perform this way because they feel it helps the audience better engage with the music and lyrics. Without its costumes, the band fears fans would care more about the appearances of the band members than their love of the music.

Typical Goat concerts feature hard-hitting beats, trance-like music, energetic dancing and a narrative approach to concert flow.
