David Byrne Tickets
David Byrne: Talking Heads totem
Known for fronting hit-making new wave group Talking Heads for over a decade, musical icon David Byrne more than deserves his spot in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. Now a prolific solo artist in his own right, the multi-award winning singer is revered for his experimental approach and diverse repertoire.
American Utopia received critical acclaim in 2018; 14 years after his last solo album, Grown Backwards, was released in 2004. Inbetween those two works, Byrne has released a handful of unique collaboration projects, including work with Brian Eno, Fatboy Slim and St. Vincent, while the first single from American Utopia continues to celebrate his love for collab. "Everybody Come to My House" shares production and other credits with Eno, Sampha and Onyx Collective’s Happa Isaiah Barr.

David Byrne: music's mad scientist continues to produce works of art
Byrne first embarked on his music career in high school, where he played in various bands until dropping out of college. Out of the ashes of a failed project, the singer teamed up with Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth to form Talking Heads in 1975. The phenomenally influential new wave group released eight studio albums and achieved Top 10 success with single "Road to Nowhere" before breaking up in 1991.
The musician had already dabbled in side projects during his time in the group, including co-producing critically-acclaimed album My Life in the Bush of Ghosts with Brian Eno in 1981 – admired for its early usage of analogue sampling. His first truly solo album was 1989 effort Rei Momo, featuring influences from Brazilian forms of music and cementing his status as one of music's more diverse artists. Still, it was his fourth, more rock-orientated album, 1994's davidenryb, which brought the songwriter commercial singles chart success.
With no intention of retiring any time soon, the veteran performer's influence on contemporary music is almost immeasurable. Forever pushing boundaries, his experimental projects have resulted with collaboration with Fatboy Slim, Martha Wainwright and Santigold, to name just a few.
