Brand New Biography - Festival Favourites
These renegade rockers first came together as part of late '90s outfit The Rookie Lot and decided to reform after their original group fell apart. Their collective experiences from Long Island's independent scene have had a strong influence on their sound which helped the band snap up a deal with Triple Crown Records after their second show. 1998 brought the release of their debut album Your Favourite Weapon, which was received favourably by critics and saw the group tour alongside Taking Back Sunday and Finch.
The band gained international acclaim with their sophomore effort, 2003's Deja Entendu, with Top 40 singles like 'The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows' and 'Sic Transit Gloria¿Glory Fades' propelling their rise to success. The group's notoriety increased through word of mouth, resulting in a headlining UK tour in 2004 and a bidding war from record labels.
