The rich heritage of the York Revolution baseball team

After the York White Roses ceased to exist in 1969, the city of York, Pennsylvania, had to wait a long time before it had a professional baseball team again. In 1998, that long wait came to an end and York Revolution baseball team was born. It was named after the rich colonial history of the city, and saw much success in the years following its founding. They are a member of the Freedom Division of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, alongside other teams such as Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, and when they won the championship in 2010, it was York's first professional baseball title since 1969. They repeated their success the following year, and in doing so, they became only the second team in the league’s history to win back-to-back championship titles.  They've won the championship several times, including in 2017, when they beat the Long Island Ducks. York Revolution and the War of the Roses
