The Amazons Biography - New EP in the Works For Reading Group

Hailing from Reading, singer Matt Thomson met guitarist Chris Alderton at school and later recruited Joe Emmet and Elliot Briggs, bonding over their shared musical influences, which include Arcade Fire, Bruce Springsteen and Nirvana. They soon began gigging, and after self-released debut EP Don't You Wanna? caught the attention of label heads - eventually signing with Fiction Records, home to Tame Impala and The Maccabees. A support slot on The Kooks tour helped them garner national recognition, boosted by support from top DJs like Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens and Annie Mac.

2016 brought the announcement of a full UK tour as well as new single, 'Nightdriving' - a track filled with catchy guitar hooks and classic punk vocals. Supported by the likes of BBC Introducing, the boys are well on the way to superstardom, and a debut album is on the way - with Grammy-nominated producer Catherine Marks at the helm.
