Shindy – an eventful career of musical success

Michael Schindler, known on stage as Shindy, was born in 1988 in Germany from a German father and a Greek mother. He became interested in music early on, when his grandmother gifted him a guitar while he was in primary school. He started rapping and recording music at the young age of 12, and then started uploading his songs to Battle Rap. That’s where he got noticed by German rappers Jaysus and Kay One. He joined their group Crime Payz and contributed to many of the songs they produced together. They eventually disbanded, and after an argument with Jaysus, Shindy followed Kay One to Berlin and appeared as a guest on several of his singles. He eventually had a fallout with Kay One and released a diss-track directed against him in May 2013. His first solo album ‘NWA’, an acronym for Never Work Again, was released in 2013 and reached the number 1 position in both Germany and Austria. Success came calling after his second album, which received a Gold Record and was amongst the top 5 rap albums of 2014. Aside from his solo albums, he has released a single in collaboration with Sido and Bushido in 2013, and then collaborated with Bushido on an album called ‘Cla$$ic, which received a Gold Record in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in 2015.
