Roxette Biography - Chart Smashing Live Legends
Singer Marie Fredriksson and frontman Per Gessle combined forces in 1986 in Halmstad, Sweden. Their tender pop album Pearls of Passion was a low-key affair, but 1988's Look Sharp! earned them international recognition before 1991's Joyride made them superstars. Featuring the singles 'Fading Like a Flower' and 'Spending my Time', it helped them blaze a trail through the 1990s as one of the most respected European pop acts around. After a brief hiatus, the 1999 comeback album Have a Nice Day and 2001's Room Service saw them burst back onto the scene, only to pull back again after Fredriksson was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2002.
Returning in 2011 with the album Charm School, they since announced that they would be celebrating the band's 30 year anniversary by touring the world from 2014 to 2016. As a celebration of their quarter century anniversary of the global hit single 'It Must Have Been Love' the pop duo re-released the track on Spotify and unveiled a limited edition 10 inch red vinyl.
