Nerina Pallot Tickets
Nerina Pallot - Back with The Sound and the Fury
A BRIT Award winning musician and producer with five albums to her name, this talented artist first found fame with her 2001 debut album Dear Frustrated Superstar. Her style has evolved over the course of her career, and 2015 LP The Sound and the Fury shows a more drastic departure from her previous records, as the singer displays a grittier tone to her voice over bluesy, stormy electronic backing tracks. The songs are all based around actual events, and so naturally have a political edge, but were also heavily inspired by her love for Cormac McCarthy's book The Road. The sound came from the increasingly electronic songs she and her producer husband had been writing for other artists, and works splendidly to marry the theme. It is an album of gripping stories and the singer will take to the road in 2016 to relay them live. Nerina Pallot Biography - Celebrated Songwriter and Performer to Tour the UK
Born in London but brought up in Jersey, this artist began performing at a young age, writing her very first song at 13 years old. After seeing Kate Bush perform 'This Woman's Work' on TV series Wogan, she was inspired to pursue a career in music of her own. Her debut record Dear Frustrated Superstar was released in 2001, but took time to refine her writing before returning independently in 2005 with album Fires. Single 'Everybody's Gone to War' proved a breakthrough, and the LP received a positive reception, prompting her signing by 14th Floor Records. They reissued the album, helping it reach number 21 in the UK charts and earn gold certification.
Her first official headline tour was a huge success, playing at prestigious venues such as Regent's Park Open Air Theatre to Shepherd's Bush Empire. 'Sophia', the album's second single, was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award, reasserting her position as a talented songwriter. She toured extensively over the next few years to promote third and fourth albums The Graduate and Year of the Wolf respectively, with the latter inspired by the birth of her son. 2014 was also a big year for the singer as she decided to release an EP every month, starting with We Should Break Up in a bid to shake up the music industry. She brought out The Sound and the Fury in 2015, a more political album full of meaningful and heartfelt tracks about topics close to the singer's heart. She takes the new material on a full UK tour in 2016 so get your Nerina Pallot tickets now on StubHub.
