Described as France's answer to Justin Timberlake, M. Pokora first found fame via TV talent contest "Popstars". Check out one of the biggest French pop idols of the '00s by purchasing your M. Pokora tickets on StubHub.
From talent show contestant to talent show judge
Born Matthieu Tota in the French city of Strasbourg in 1985, M. Pokora first gained attention when he auditioned for French talent contest "Popstars". Teaming up with two other contestants, Pokora recorded 2003 debut album, "Notre étoile", under the guise of Linkup before the trio split up shortly after. After adopting his more familiar stage name, he dropped his eponymous debut in 2004 and topped the French charts with sophomore "Player" two years later, also scoring a hit collaboration with Ricky Martin on the latter. In 2008, Pokora worked with hitmakers such as J.R. Rotem and Timbaland for English-language third LP, "MP3", before returning to his native tongue for 2008's "Mise à Jour". He then embraced a smoother soul-pop sound on 2012's "à la poursuite du bonheur", portrayed Robin Hood in the hit stage musical "Robin des Bois" and added to his discography with 2015's "R.E.D." and 2016's "My Way". He then brought things full circle by becoming a judge on both the kids and adult version of "The Voice". You can both buy and sell M. Pokora tickets on StubHub.
Bridging the gaps between pop, hip-hop and R&B
It's not just M. Pokora's similar sense of style that has often seen him compared to Justin Timberlake. The Frenchman also possesses the same kind of slick dance moves, effortless vocals and ability to bridge the gaps between pop, R&B and hip-hop as his fellow former boyband idol. And nowhere is that more apparent than on the stage. Pokora has embarked on no less than five major concert tours since going solo where he's treated fans to renditions of hits such as the "à nos actes manqués", "Cette année-la" and "Dangerous". The star also regularly performs solo versions of his collaborations with Ricky Martin, Timbaland, Tyron Carter, Verse and Tal alongside French-language takes of English pop classics such as Four Tops' "It's the Same Old Song," Johnny Nash's "I Can See Clearly Now" and Peter Allen's "I Go to Rio".
