Hurts Biography - Synth Pop Duo Announce New Tour Dates

Meeting in a nightclub in 2005, Theo Hutchcraft and Adam Anderson decided to form a band after discovering their similar tastes in music. Before forming their final group, they released tracks under names Bureau and Daggers, playing gigs across Manchester and London. Their big break came in 2009, when they posted an amateur video for song 'Wonderful Life' on YouTube. The posting went viral and has since racked up more than 21 million views, catapulting the pair into the spotlight and securing them a record deal with Sony.

Their first official track 'Blood, Tears & Gold' was named Zane Lowe's Hottest Record in the World in 2010, followed swiftly by a re-release of 'Wonderful Life' and the BBC Radio 1 promoted 'Better Than Love'. Launching across Europe and Asia the band quickly grew in popularity and their debut album Happiness went straight in at number four in the UK charts as the fastest selling debut of the year. After impressing with their performance at 2011's Glastonbury Festival, the band's second album Exile hit the airwaves in early 2013, receiving rave reviews across the board for its emotional, power driven songs.
