Feeder: Welsh veterans announce 2018 UK tour to support greatest hits release

One of the biggest bands of the post Britpop scene, tracks like "Just a Day" and "Buck Rogers" made Feeder a cult hit among British teens. Now – after nine albums; millions of record sales; and over 20 years in the music business – the Welsh post-punk stalwarts are still going strong.

The band's hugely successful 2016 tour – to support ninth album All Bright Electric – proved that Feeder are still a considerable draw for fans, while the reviews for the album were among some of the best of the group's long and distinguished career. 

Veterans of the tour bus, Feeder will hit the road again in spring next year to support the release of their greatest hits. The Best Of Feeder – including all the previous singles from the band's career, as well a mini-album of new material called Arrow – is being followed up by an eight-date tour across the UK throughout March 2018. 

The band will call at: Bristol; Norwich; Manchester; Glasgow; Leeds; Birmingham; Nottingham and London – meaning rock fans up and down the country will have a chance to see Feeder in concert. Feeder: cult classics that were a staple of every millennial teen's bedroom

Inspired by American grunge bands like Nirvana and The Smashing Pumpkins, Feeder were formed in Newport in the 1990s – originally performing under the moniker Reef. Their heavy rock sound helped the band garner a cult fan base around South Wales, but it wasn't until the early 2000s that they really began to make traction on the airwaves. They had their commercial breakthrough with top 10 hit "Buck Rogers", which pushed their third album Echo Park up to a high of number five on the charts. The album spawned further hits including "Seven Days in the Sun" and fan-favourite B-side "Just a Day" which is included in Kerrang! magazine's 666 Songs You Must Own list.

With the decade-defining teen-angst anthem still in the charts and the band on the brink of further success, they were brought back down to Earth with the sad death of drummer Jon Lee. The tragedy changed band's sound significantly with the 2002 album Comfort In Sound largely written with Lee in mind. Propelled by melancholy, folk-tinged singles "Just the Way I'm Feeling" and "Comfort in Sound" the album held a place in the charts for almost 40 weeks. 

Their latest release All Bright Electric received some of the best reviews of the band's long career, with front man Grant Nicholas revealing that the band have no intention of calling it a day anytime soon.
