Debuting as Shabutie in 1995, this genre-bending quartet are rumoured to have spent nearly a year experimenting with various music styles until settling on a progressive sound for their debut studio demo, Plan to Take Over the World, in August 1996. However it wasn't until 2002 when they released their breakthrough debut studio album, The Second Stage, alongside their first single 'Devil in Jersey City' that the band hit the big time. The LP, based on a storyline from Claudio's sci-fi side project, marked the beginning of a winning combination for the band, who would go on to produce a string of albums, all centred around the story of The Armory Wars.

Avoiding the ordinary, the four-piece effortlessly avoid the realms of the norm, with Sanchez's unusual vocal style acting as the centrepiece for their music. Unaware of passing trends, the band's conceptual approach is enveloped in a sound that often straddles the line between anthemic pop and heavy guitar riffs.
