It wasn't until many years later when his first single, "Sleep Without You," quickly followed by "In Case You Didn't Know," launched him into mainstream country music. Both songs peaked within the top three on both the US Country and the US Country Airplay charts. His first studio album, Brett Young, dropped on February 12, 2016, and quickly climbed the US Country charts before it was certified Platinum while his follow-up album, Ticket to LA, dropped on December 7, 2018, and peaked at No. 1 on the US Country charts. After high school, he chose to attend college at Ole Miss on a baseball scholarship and turned down his pre-draft selections by both the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and the Minnesota Twins.
