Alpine Valley Music Theatre
Alpine Valley Music Theatre TicketsAlpine Valley Music Theatre opened in 1977 between the small towns of Elkhorn and East Troy, Wisconsin. The closest major city is Milwaukee. During the inaugural year, the theatre featured a number of world-renowned musicians and music groups, such as Chicago, Frank Sinatra, Jimmy Buffett and Bob Seger. Over the years, the theater has become synonymous with The Grateful Dead and the ultimate Deadhead experience, which ultimately led to the banning of the band due to overcrowding and unruly fan behavior in 1989. The ban was lifted in 2002 with a triumphant return over the next few years before the group's last tour in 2004. The Alpine Valley Music Theatre uses the natural surroundings to enhance musical performances rather than concrete, steel and technology. Other notable events include Pearl Jam choosing this music venue for the group's 20th anniversary performance. Today, the theater still hosts influential acts, such as the Dave Matthews Band and Phish.
