From its inception, the Vitality Blast was designed to be a spectacle for spectators. In 2003 it was decided to replace the Benson & Hedges Cup, a one-day competition, with a new first-class tournament that would draw crowds back to the game. The new T20 format was the perfect choice and the Twenty20 Cup came into existence, later changed to Vitality Blast. Along with a new game format came new ways to enjoy cricket.
