The Berlin-based artist Tim Bendzko first rose to fame as the 2011 winner of the "Bundesvision Song Contest", an annual German music competition founded by Stefan Raab in 2005. He had already been working exclusively on his pop music career and was signed by Sony Music two years prior to his legendary performance with the song "Wenn Worte meine Sprache wären", which in English means "If Words Were My Language", from his first album of the same name, released in 2011. He also achieved national success with the song "Nur noch kurz die Welt retten", meaning "Just To Save The World Quickly" that same year. Ever since his extraordinary debut, Bendzko has released a number of singles and albums and has been active on TV as a juror for other music competitions. Tim Bendzko’s first album went on to reach the No. 4 position in the German charts and received Quintuple Gold for selling over 500,000 copies. His second album was named "Am seidenen Faden" ("On A Silk Thread") and was released in 2013, going on to stay at No. 1 for 50 weeks and going double platinum, selling upwards of 400,000 copies. His third album, "Immer noch Mensch", translating roughly to "Still Human", was also No. 1 in 2016. Bendzko has toured all over the world to promote his music and also support other artists. After his own successful appearance on television, Bendzko went on to be part of a number of other shows, but this time not as a candidate.
