The Who Tickets
The Who - See the British Invasion Superstars on their UK Tour in 2016!
Few bands have ever, or will ever, boast the same legacy as The Who. Bursting onto the music scene in the 1960s, the Londoners became one of the holy trinity of rock music, alongside The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Together, these groups drove the British Invasion, and Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey carving themselves a special place in the rock lexicon for their wild live performances and groundbreaking synth-led sound.
Blazing a trail as the world's first arena rock act, this legendary act produced a wave of seminal songs including 'My Generation' and 'Baba O'Riley'. Over 50 years and many line-up changes later, the band are still playing their bombastic music and are set to embark on a UK tour in 2016. Buy The Who tickets on StubHub today.
More About The Who - Over 50 Years of Revolutionary Rock
In the late 1960s, an army of British rock bands managed to seduce American audiences in a movement that is now known as the British Invasion - but there are three groups that mattered above all. While The Beatles are revered as the most influential band in the world for their creativity and revolutionary songwriting and The Rolling Stones for their blues purism and raw sex appeal, The Who stand out for their superhuman energy and instrumental aptitude.
Each of the band's original members are exemplified for being the master of their craft. John Entwistle - a.k.a. The Ox - is widely regarded as the greatest bass player of all time. Founder Roger Daltrey is one of the greatest rock showmen in the world and the mouthpiece for Pete Townshend's vision. Townshend is hailed as a guitar virtuoso eminent for his acrobatic, aggressive style (he coined the famous windmill strum and destroyed almost as many guitars as he played in the 1970s). The late Keith Moon was a completely original talent too, and the first person to make drums the driving instrument of any rock band.
Describing their early sound as 'maximum R&B', The Who twisted conventional song structures with synths and invented a whole new genre of rock that influenced both hard rock and electronica. Wildly passionate performances led the band to become the world's first arena rock act, capable of filling stadiums with thousands upon thousands of hysterical fans clamouring to hear history-making concept albums like Tommy (1969) and Quadrophonia (1973).
There's good reason to see this legendary act perform in the flesh, as they're still widely regarded as the greatest live band the world has ever known half a century after they burst onto the music scene. The aggression, attitude and energy know no bounds, so why not see legends Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey perform huge hits like 'My Generation' and 'Won't Get Fooled Again' live?
