The Summer Set Tickets
The Summer Set is in Season
If you can't get enough of pop rock, pop punk, alternative rock or power pop, then it's time to check out The Summer Set. Regardless of what you want to call it, the music tends to be light, happy and easy to dance to, which is what matters to the fans.
This band has been on tour with several other musicians, such as Cartel, Never Shout Never, The Cab and Yellowcard. Of course, like most bands with a younger fan base, The Summer Set has also performed at multiple major shows, such as the Vans Warped Tour, The Bamboozle Festival, OurZone Magazine Tour and the Dirty Work Tour. The band has also toured around the U.S. in support of its albums. Their upcoming UK tour destinations include Leeds, Liverpool, London and Oxford, to name a few. In particular, the band will be performing at The Garage in Glasgow, Manchester Academy in Manchester and The Temple at the Institute in Digbeth.
The Summer Set is known for taking the opinions of its fans into account when releasing songs. For example, its members have polled fans on which songs they should include on upcoming albums, and they recently made a forum called Half Moon Kids. The point of it is to allow the band members to easily share ideas with fans and get feedback while also enabling fans to show their support for the band. In fact, Half Moon Kids was responsible for the Legendary Moments Campaign, during which the band was instrumental in helping some fans see their dreams come true.
The band was formed in 2007 by Jess Bowen, Brian Logan Dales, Stephen Gomez and John Gomez. Jess plays the drums and Brian performs lead vocals. Stephen plays the bass while John plays the piano, guitar and provides backup vocals. In 2008, Josh Montgomery joined the rest of the members of The Summer Set, and he now plays guitar. All of the band's members are from Scottsdale, Arizona, and are fans of fellow Arizona bands such as The Format and Jimmy Eat World. Third Eye Blind and Jack's Mannequin had an influence on The Summer Set, as well.
This band's first album, Love Like This, was released in 2009. Some of the songs on the album include "Young," "Love Like This" and "Punch-Drunk Love." This album also featured the song "Chelsea," which was written about actress Chelsea Kane, who Dales dated at one time. Though this album didn't quite hit any high numbers on the music charts, it was enough to get the attention of pop rock fans and start acquiring an audience for the band's tour to promote the album.
The Summer Set's next album titled Everything's Fine, which released in 2011, had a catchy, fun tone and featured songs such as "Thick as Thieves," "Must Be the Music" and "Begin Again." The band did not release another album until 2013, when Legendary came out. This album differed from the previous releases in that it reached No. 53 on the Billboard 200 chart, as well as No. 12 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart. Some of the songs included "Lightning in a Bottle," "Legendary" and "Boomerang."
Considering how involved with its fans this band tends to be off stage, it should come as no surprise that its members are the same way at shows. If you get The Summer Set tickets, you can expect to have a close up and intimate experience with the band's music as you listen to a mix of newer and older songs. The energy of the band members is contagious, which is why the audience always seems to be dancing, singing along and just jumping around to the songs. Plus, band members usually stay after the show ends to sign autographs and take photos with fans.
