Sugar Bowl Tickets
With the first game played on Jan. 1, 1935, the Sugar Bowl is a long-running college football playoff game held in New Orleans. The Sugar Bowl is the second-oldest bowl game in the NCAA behind the Rose Bowl. The bowl game originated in Tulane Stadium before moving to the Superdome in 1975. Despite its connection to the Southeastern Conference, the Sugar Bowl did not host an SEC team only four years in the first 60 bowl games. As part of the New Year's Six, the Sugar Bowl is in the playoff rotation alongside the Cotton, Fiesta, Orange, Peach and Rose bowls with the next playoff event being held after the 2020 season. The Sugar Bowl is part of the Bowl Championship Series, so the event has hosted the BSC National Championship game in 2000 and 2004. During those years, the national champions were Florida State and LSU. In 2017, the Sugar Bowl hosted the Clemson-Alabama playoff, which is a fierce rivalry.
