Big crowds at the Enterprise Center
Established in 1967 as part of the NHL expansion that doubled the size of the league, the Blues moved in to their first home at the St. Louis Arena. They caused shockwaves throughout the league when in just their first and second seasons, the team qualified for the Stanley Cup finals playoffs against the Montreal Canadiens. Two consecutive finals losses did not deter the team, who regrouped and qualified to challenge the Stanley Cup once again, this time against the Boston Bruins in 1970. Their inaugural championship win evaded them yet again, however the team won a lot of fans with their commitment and hard-nosed style of play. The Blues struggled to repeat their playoff heroics in the following years but that didn't stop supporters showing up en masse for home games. During the 2010-11 season, the Blues sold out every single home game. This is a key reason as to why the atmosphere and energy within the Enterprise Center, a 18,400-capacity stadium in downtown St. Louis, is considered to be one of the best in the NHL. In 2017, the Blues hosted the Chicago Blackhawks in the Winter Classic, a match that drew an attendance of more than 45,000. Experience the frenetic fans and electrifying energy by purchasing St. Louis Blues tickets on StubHub.
A tribute to a music legend
The team was named after the famous 1914 song "Saint Louis Blues" by W. C. Handy. Known as the Father of Blues, Handy was synonymous with blues music in America and his song gave the city of St. Louis a proud identity. The franchise has long held the tradition of having a live organ band perform a rendition of the song before home games. Make sure you arrive early enough to witness the tradition when you attend a Blues match, as it is an experience that you'll never forget. Aptly coloured with a royal blue, gold and white uniform, the team's logo is music note that represents not only Handy's song but the long association that the city of St. Louis has had with jazz and blues music. Make sure you grab St. Louis Blues tickets in order to secure the opportunity to attend a game and see how much the team means to the city.
