Ivan Miljkovic is one of the greatest players ever, the Serbian becoming the first player to receive three consecutive MVP awards and four MVPs overall at the FIVB World League (in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006). Natural born competitors

For years Serbia has been one of volleyball's most feared competitors: expertly skilled and fiercely competitive, winning has become something of a tradition. The squad’s proudest moment came at the Games in Sydney in 2000, where they went away with the gold medal after beating the Russia Men's National Volleyball Team in the final. It represented the start of an era of domination at the turn of the millennium, with Serbia going on to claim the European championship in 2001 and reclaiming the title in 2011, beating the Italy Men's National Volleyball Team in the final on both occasions. After having gone away with the silver medal at five separate FIVB World Leagues between 2002 and 2015, the Serbians finally claimed their first gold at the tournament in the 2016 edition held in Kraków, Poland. The squad’s successes have led to them accumulating a large and passionate following in their homeland, with the current roster consisting of some of Europe’s best players.
