Passenger - 'Let Her Go' Singer Returns with New Album in 2016
Synonymous with his award-winning signature 2012 hit 'Let Her Go', this calm crooner has come a long way from his humble beginnings playing pubs and clubs in Brighton and Hove. Though Passenger begun in 2003 as a five-piece, singer Michael David Rosenberg decided to retain the name and carry on a solo artist when the group split in 2009.
It's a good thing he did, because his ubiquitous single achieved international success and topped the British charts just a few years later, prompting high profile supporting slots with the likes of Turin Brakes and Ed Sheeran. His brand new album Young As The Morning, Old As The Sea is his eighth in total, and is being hailed as his most breathtaking and ambitious yet. Singles 'Somebody's Love' and 'Anywhere' have gone down a treat already with fans, so grab Passenger tickets now on StubHub.
Passenger - Back With Young As The Morning, Old As The Sea
Growing up in Brighton, Michael David Rosenberg learned to play classical guitar, and started songwriting in his early teens. As soon as he could, he left school and got his first taste of performing by busking in England and Australia. He met his writing partner Andrew Phillips in the early 2000s and together they formed the folk rock quintet Passenger. The band achieved negligible success with their one and only album Wicked Man's Rest before disbanding in 2009.
Rosenberg decided to keep performing under the same stage name as a solo artist, and released his own debut album Wide Eyes Blind that same year. He recorded his sophomore effort Flight of the Crow in Australia the following year - but it wasn't until 2012 that he found himself an overnight superstar. 'Let Her Go' from his fourth album won him an Ivor Novello Award, topping charts across the globe and introducing his music to a whole new audience.
September 2016 brought new album Young As The Morning, Old As The Sea and has been hailed as a highly introspective work, and his most experimental. Inspired by the awe-inspiring landscapes of Iceland and New Zealand, the record includes sprawling and epic musical odes to nature including 'Beautiful Birds' and 'Fool's Gold'. Don't miss out on your chance to see him perform his new material live. Get Passenger tickets now on StubHub.
