Nashville SC TicketsNashville SC is an expansion franchise for Major League Soccer that is set to begin playing in the 2020 season. Led by local businessman John Ingram and the majority owners of the Minnesota Vikings — the Wilf brothers, Mark and Zygi, and their cousin Leonard — the city of Nashville officially won its bid for a new franchise in December 2017. Before it became a member of MLS, however, Nashville SC was founded in 2018 as part of the United Soccer League. It made the USL playoffs in both of its first two years of existence. The MLS roster will consist of the club's USL players plus newly acquired and drafted players. As the 13th club in the Western Conference, Nashville entered the league at the same time as Inter Miami CF. How did Nashville SC finish last season?Nashville SC finished the 2019 USL regular season with 67 points and a record of 20 wins, seven losses and seven draws. As the second seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, Nashville beat the ninth seed Charleston Battery by a score of 3-1 in the opening round. However, the club lost to the third seed Indy Eleven by a score of 1-0 in the conference semifinals. Tyler Pasher scored the lone goal in the 59th minute with an assist by Tyler Gibson to clinch the victory.
Who is Nashville’s head coach?Gary Smith is the current head coach of Nashville SC. Between 1985 and 1997, he was a regular fixture in English soccer/football, playing for Colchester United FC and Wycombe Wanderers FC. After the end of his professional playing career, Smith took over as head coach of the Colorado Rapids in 2008. He led the club to the 2010 MLS championship with a 2-1 win over FC Dallas in extra time. He left the club in 2011, then coached for Stevenage and the Atlanta Silverbacks before joining Nashville SC for its inaugural season in 2018.
How large is Nissan Stadium?Nissan Stadium, which opened in 1999, has a maximum seating capacity of 68,798. However, depending on the seating arrangement, the capacity may be reduced for soccer games. As the official home of the Tennessee Titans, the venue has all the amenities of a first-class stadium. ADA-compatible seating is available throughout the venue.
Is Nashville SC getting its own stadium?A new soccer-specific stadium for the club is expected to be built at the Nashville Fairgrounds in time for the opening of the 2022 season. However, delays in the demolition of the old buildings may slow construction. Until the new venue opens, Nashville SC will continue to play at Nissan Stadium.
