Chasing championship success

Success did not come easily to the team in the early years, as they focused on steadily developing and establishing themselves in the NHL. Their fortunes improved in 2004, when the team qualified for their first Stanley Cup playoffs, however they went on to lose in the first round against the Detroit Red Wings.
