Enjoy a Transcendent Experience with Mozart Requiem Tickets
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is one of the world's most esteemed composers, and "Requiem" is among his finest masterpieces from a career that produced many outstanding works. This performance is sure to provide a transcendent experience for those fortunate enough to get tickets. Held at one of the best venues in the United Kingdom, the performance will enthral fans of Mozart with classical music performed by some of the finest musicians in the UK.
Schedule
Performance of the mass is scheduled at the Royal Festival Hall in London. Billed as a "sublime" presentation of the master composer's greatest works, it promises to be an inspirational event. The evening's entertainment will begin with a performance of Mozart's "Overture" followed by "The Magic Flute." A brief interlude will include great representations of the master composer's "Piano Concerto No. 3 in C" followed by his "K.467 Interval" before concluding the evening with a flawless performance of Mozart's "Requiem."
Trivia
Mozart's "Requiem" was an unfinished work upon the composer's untimely demise in 1791 and was completed by Franz Xaver Sussmayr in 1792. Mozart originally intended the mass as a commemorative piece to be performed upon the anniversary of the death of Count Franz von Walsegg's wife. The count had commissioned the piece and was known to claim the works of others as his own. Many classical music historians speculate that had Mozart lived, he would not have received credit for this composition. Because of Mozart's death, "Requiem" was performed to honour his widow rather than the count's deceased wife, which ensure that the great composer would receive due credit for the masterpiece.
Band/Singer
Coordinating the music is one of the world's greatest orchestras: the English Chamber Orchestra. Under the patronage of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, the orchestra has performed the works of more than 400 of the world's greatest composers. Dominic Wheeler will conduct the orchestra, accompanied by Jayson Gilham on piano. Providing their choral abilities will be soprano Mary Bevan, mezzo-soprano Kathryn Rudge, tenor Joshua Mills and baritone Duncan Rock. The Bach Choir will back the lead vocalists.
Breakthrough
"Requiem" gained nearly instant fame soon after Mozart's death. Adding to the work's allure is the semi-secretive nature with which it was commissioned and, ultimately, how it was finished by Sussmayr. In finishing the work, Sussmayr says he relied upon Mozart's notations from the initial drafts and tried to stay as true as possible to the great composer's intentions. The work since has proven to be among the most popular classical works to come out of Continental Europe and has been performed by nearly every great symphony orchestra.
Hit Albums
The English Chamber Orchestra holds the distinction of being the world's most recorded orchestra. It has 860 recordings to its credit, covering more than 1,500 works by the greatest composers in the world. The equally esteemed Bach Choir was founded only about four years after Mozart's masterpiece was completed with a litany of outstanding recordings. Combined with the vocal talents of Bevan, Rudge, Mills and Rock, this composition is poised to be a truly outstanding event.
