Born to a freelance journalist in Canterbury, this outspoken artist grew up in Sheffield where she honed her impressive songwriting talents. Before her appearance on the 2012 series of the X Factor, Spraggan had tried her hand at a number of talent competitions, including Live and Unsigned in July 2011. This gave her the momentum she needed to independently release her debut album Top Room at the Zoo, which gained particular traction on social media.

However it wasn't until her audition for Louis Walsh and co that the singer found mainstream success. Boldly performing with her own material, the singer left the judges and TV audiences in awe with light-hearted hit 'Last Night'. After receiving a standing ovation across the board she went to wow fans further with more self-written hits and her unique rendition of 'Halo' soared to Number 2 on the iTunes charts. Unfortunately illness saw her quit the competition before she could progress further than the semi-finals but less than a year later she had signed with Columbia Records, putting her on the cusp of megastardom.
