Lovebox 2018: one of London's summer festival highlights

Lovebox returns for another weekend of all-out partying as the best and brightest from grime, hip-hop, house, R&B and techno descend on London's Victoria Park.

The brainchild of electro pioneers Groove Armada, Lovebox has risen from a nightclub in east London to filling London's oldest public space with over 50,000 revelers; and with over fifteen stages of music to choose from there's sure to be something for everyone.

Lovebox: diverse lineups and loads to do besides

Back in 2002, electro-music duo Groove Armada sought to put together a new show in London with more exciting line-ups. In just a few years, the event they called Lovebox went from a sell-out stint at a Brick Lane nightclub to a one day special on Clapham Common, before making a permanent move to Victoria Park in 2005.

Over the subsequent decade, attendances have rocketed to over 50,000, bigger names and artists have graced the stages, and Lovebox has expanded to include a broader mix of genres and activities. Lovebox has won a selection of awards along the way too. In 2006, it won Virtual Festivals Party People Award for Dance Music. In 2008 Lovebox won the UK Festival Award for Best Medium-Sized Festival. 

Despite starting out as a predominantly dance festival, Lovebox has since expanded to include a wide variety of musical genres as well as circus performers, cabaret and fringe acts.
