Le Femme tour dates
Developing its own unique sound, with influences from krautrock-indie, La Femme combines elements of French pop, EDM, psych rock and '60s surf. This sound, which some have described as hypnotic and synthetic, has earned the band the Victoires de la Musique award in the category Album revelation.
Originating from Biarritz, France, this psych-punk rock band has played shows around the globe. Le Femme tours took place across the United States, Europe, Mexico, Japan, Singapore, Canada, Iceland and more. Le Femme has also shared the stage with dozens of highly acclaimed bands, including Kendrick Lamar, The Killers and The Foo Fighters.
Le Femme's background
Keyboard player Marlon Magnee and guitarist Sacha Got met in secondary school before moving to Paris. After forming an unsuccessful group, they formed Le Femme, a group with influences from French underground from the '60s and synthwave from the '70s. The band members were determined to build a name for themselves, but had no idea how quickly they would do so.
After emailing more than 50 venues to play gigs, the band took advantage of its first opportunity. Taking a leap of faith in 2010, Le Femme recorded its first EP, titled Le Femme. Taking its sound to America, the group once again emailed over 100 venues looking for a way to break through. The band's decision to release an EP in France and immediately tour in the United States created a real buzz.
Upon its arrival home, the band began working on its debut album, Psycho Tropical Berlin, which it released in 2013. After the album reached No. 33 in France, the band members knew they had something. Shortly after, the group performed at Austin Psych Fest, and has continued to play large shows ever since. In 2012, Le Femme released its second album, Mystere, which peaked at No. 8 in France.
Le Femme's biggest concert
Le Femme's career is certainly impressive. The band has played major shows and festivals around the globe, sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the business. At the beginning, the band mainly played in France and the United States, before touring across the UK in 2012.
From there, Le Femme began to book gigs in Belgium, Switzerland, Germany and a handful of other European countries. By 2013, the group was playing alongside Bloc Party, Two Door Cinema Club, System of a Down, Mac Miller and dozens of other noteworthy artists. The group has also played at dozens of festivals, including performances at the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience, Desert Daze and the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
