Kula Shaker - Touring the UK in May 2016
These Britpop rockers with a heady psychedelic edge dominated the '90s with 10 hits in the singles charts and a number one debut album, K. As well as being one of the fastest selling debut records since Oasis, the band wowed fans by using material that drew on a wide array of eastern philosophical and religious influences, with single 'Govinda' even made headlines for being the only British top 10 hit sung entirely in Sanskrit. Headed by the enigmatic Crispian Mills, this group's incredible hits like 'Hush', 'Hey Dude' and 'Infinite Sun' make their live performances truly legendary. With fifth studio album Eclipse out in 2016, there has never been a better time to see these artists in the flesh. Grab your Kula Shaker tickets on StubHub now and catch the on their May 2016 tour.
Kula Shaker Biography - Hear a Britpop Legend Live
The band started out in London during the early '90s, performing under the name Objects of Desire. They soon changed their name after being inspired by an 8th century Indian emperor King Kulasekhara. The group's coalescing of Indian spirituality with '60s rock was popular with fans. In fact, their first ever gig was at Glastonbury on the Hare Krishna Stage with hit single 'Godiva'. The overwhelming success of debut LP K lead to sophomore album Peasants Pigs and Astronauts in 2009, but the band split soon afterwards. Half a decade later though, they regrouped, eventually releasing Strangefolk in 2007.
With a reputation for mysticism and genre-defying music, the group's enduring popularity caused the unveiling of fourth album Pilgrims Progress in 2010. With the recent release of singles '33 Crows' and 'Infinite Sun' from Eclipse, their long awaited fifth record, fans are once again hugely excited to see the boys back on stage.
