The man who redefined the US sitcom
Born in Brooklyn in 1954, Jerry Seinfeld studied at both the State University and City University of New York before becoming a regular on the Big Apple's comedy circuit. After getting discovered by Rodney Dangerfield, Seinfeld landed a recurring role on "Benson", guested on "The Tonight Show" on numerous occasions and worked with Larry David on a show that would redefine the US sitcom. Despite a deliberate lack of plot, NBC's "Seinfeld" was one of the biggest comedies of the 1990s and turned its leading man into a bona fide A-list star. Following its final episode in 1998, Seinfeld returned to stand-up with a national sell-out tour, co-wrote, produced and voiced the main role in animated hit "Bee Movie" and hosted panel game show "The Marriage Ref". He also achieved success as the host of web series "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" and with his Netflix special, "Jerry Before Seinfeld", recorded at New York's Comic Strip Live. A precisely crafted comedy experience
Jerry Seinfeld is renowned for being a perfectionist when it comes to telling jokes, often working on one for years behind the scenes before finally unleashing it on the public. His live show is therefore a precisely crafted comedy experience in which every one-liner is guaranteed to land. TV dinners, energy shots, Pop-Tarts and all-you-can-eat buffets are just a few of his regular subjects of choice, while his childhood growing up on Long Island, the differences between his and today's generation and the stresses of organising a night out also often get a look-in. Unlike many of his peers, Seinfeld doesn't feel the need to shout out his set from the rooftops, instead preferring a quieter and more intimate approach that gives the audience the time to take in each joke one by one. Seinfeld's masterful routines are also proof that familiarity with a great joke doesn't prevent it from being funny time and time again. If you haven't yet experienced the hugely popular comedian in his element, then take a look at the range of Jerry Seinfeld tickets on offer at StubHub. You can also find tickets for his fellow Seinfeld stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Jason Alexander.
