Growing Up in public
Born in Seoul in 1993, Lee Ji-eun first began performing in elementary school and after signing with LOEN Entertainment in her mid-teens, she released her debut EP, "Lost and Found," under the guise of IU in 2008. Following 2009's full-length LP, "Growing Up," IU cemented her status as a national sweetheart with 2010's "Real" EP and 2011's chart-topping sophomore, "Last Fantasy," with the latter being crowned Record of the Year at the Seoul Music Awards. IU subsequently signed to EMI Music Japan and worked with Janet Jackson hitmakers Jam and Lewis on 2013's "Can You Hear Me" EP before dropping her third studio album, "Modern Times." In 2014, IU covered the likes of Kim Wan-sun and Jo Deok-bae on the "A Flower Bookmark" EP and made her United States live debut at the annual KCON convention, while three years later, she reached the top of the Billboard World Albums Chart for the first time with fourth LP, "Palette." IU has also enjoyed a successful acting career thanks to roles in the likes of "Dream High," "You're the Best Lee Soon-shin" and "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo." Breaking the molds for K-Pop stardom
IU first took to the stage for 2012's Japan Special Premium Live shows and has since embarked on a 13-date "Real Fantasy" tour across South Korea, the "Good Day China Tour" and a 10th anniversary trek taking in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and her homeland. And in 2015, she was the only female artist to perform at the opening day of the KCON in LA, where The Los Angeles Times described her as a "sprightly stage presence breaking the moulds for K-Pop stardom." Concertgoers should expect to hear renditions of hits such as "Only I Didn't Know," "Every End of the Day," "Sleepless Rainy Night" and "Can't Love You Anymore." The accomplished performer is also known for her ability to turn the large arena show into a highly intimate experience thanks to her crowd interaction and fascinating stories behind the songs. Catch one of the K-Pop scene's biggest superstars in her element by checking out the range of IU tickets on offer on StubHub.
