ICW Wrestling Tickets
Also known as Insane Championship Wrestling, ICW Wrestling is a professional sports company based in Scotland, which puts on frequent wrestling events. Founded by Mark Dallas, ICW Wrestling presents a hardcore form of wrestling, in which disqualifications, count-outs and certain other regulations that are found in other fighting sports do not have any part.
Often the wrestlers who take part will have some sort of feud or rivalry, which is played out in front of the audience. Hardcore wrestling bouts often see the use of everyday items. For example, past ICW events have seen ladders, tables, chairs, thumbtacks and even supposedly barbed wire used. Hardcore wrestling, which is popular in Japan and North America as well as the UK, will often see the likes of lighting tubes, spades, baseball bats and hand tools used to ramp up the action. In some cases, axes, chains, crowbars, hammers and cooking tongs have been used.
ICW Wrestling's early years
ICW Wrestling got going in 2006, when the Maryhill Community Centre was first used to stage events. A three-way bout called ICW: Fear & Loathing saw Drew Galloway being crowned as the competition's first heavyweight champ. By 2010, ICW: Fear & Loathing 3 was staged and this event marked the promoter's first venture into central Glasgow, when the fighting was staged at the city's Apollo 23 nightclub in November of that year. A secondary title, the so-called Zero-G Championship, was introduced at a summertime event around this period in ICW Wrestling's history.
ICW Wrestling's expansion
From 2013, the format of ICW was expanded to Edinburgh meetings as well as those in Glasgow. These included events such as Tramspotting and Fear and Lothian in Scotland's capital. The following year, Dallas expanded ICW Wrestling's reach south of the border, with the sport's first sessions in England. Jimmy Nail's Revenge was held in Newcastle, followed by What's Your Boggle? in London. Further events were staged at the O2 Academy in Liverpool and Fat Sam's in Dundee; the first time that either city had hosted an ICW bout. Southampton staged its first ICW event in 2017.
Along with male stalwarts of the wrestling franchise, such as Joe Coffey and Pete Dunne, there are a number of female fighters. These include Session Moth Martina, Sammii Jayne and Viper, to name but three. Kay Lee Roth is a former female champion of ICW. Thomas Kearins is the sports senior referee who takes charge of one-on-one bouts as well as tag team events.
