Heaton Park
Heaton Park: a cultural magnet
Heaton Park is so much more than Manchester's most beautiful public park. The largest municipal park in Europe, it extends over nearly 650 acres and contains numerous beautifully landscaped features and facilities. With a diverse programme of events throughout the year, you can enjoy music, theatre and sport within its grounds, taking in some of the best of northern England's cultural offerings. Tickets for Heaton Park are available to buy or sell on StubHub.
Enjoy the annual Heaton Park Festival
Heaton Park is an extension of the garden of neoclassical stately home Heaton Hall, built on the northern edge of Manchester in the 18th century. At the turn of the new millennium, the park was extensively renovated and re-landscaped: the £10 million pound project has seen it become one of the most beautiful public spaces in the city. With a boating lake, observatory, adventure playground, small animal farm, 18-hole golf course and the spectacular Heaton Hall (only occasionally open to the public), the park is an attraction in its own right. Not content with its own beauty, however, Heaton Park holds a wide range of events throughout the year: bands such as Oasis and The Courteneers have performed here in recent years, the Pope celebrated Mass for 100,000 people in 1982, and numerous theatrical performances including everything from Shakespeare to musicals have been held in the park. Perhaps the most famous of all is the Heaton Park Festival Parklife Weekender, which officially moved to Manchester in 2012. With such a broad range of cultural events to choose from, you'll find it difficult to settle on just one set of tickets for Heaton Park!
Travel to Heaton Park by tram
Parklife is a weekend festival held in Heaton Park in Manchester during early June. Famous British musicians from Dizzee Rascal and Plan B to Liam Gallagher and The xx have headlined here, playing to crowds of up to 140,000. One of the UK's youngest but most popular music festivals, Parklife is especially beloved by students, along with events such as Bestival and the Isle of Wight Festival. Other Heaton Park events attract a more diverse crowd - and if you're coming to see a show here, you can also make use of the park's many family-friendly facilities. A little way from the centre of Manchester, Heaton Park can be easily reached on the historic tramway, which is run by volunteers and offers a sense of how it might have been to arrive here one hundred years ago. With beautiful surroundings and an eclectic array of events on offer, you can buy and sell Heaton Park tickets on StubHub now.
