FC Ingolstadt 04 Tickets
The heroic struggles of Bavaria's FC Ingolstadt 04
FC Ingolstadt 04 is a German club that has spent time in all three divisions of the Bundesliga. The highlight of the team's story was 2015/2016 promotion to the Bundesliga and the subsequent two years they spent in the top echelon. Unfortunately, historically their Bundesliga career has been extremely short, and the team has settled more happily into the lower league, with a large fan base that makes it very worthwhile, should you want to buy or sell FC Ingolstadt 04 tickets on StubHub.
A fast rise to the 2. Bundesliga
FC Ingolstadt 04 emerged as a combination of two other Bavarian professional football clubs relatively recently, in 2004, making it quite a new addition to the German professional scene – a young pretender, if you will. It's been a bit of a struggle for the team, although they've become one of the most doggedly competitive teams in Germany and they're always an entertaining team to watch. FC Ingolstadt 04 tickets have remained best-sellers in Bavaria no matter how the team is performing at any given time. They kicked off their professional journey very successfully – even though they were originally assigned to the lowly Oberliga Bayern (IV), they leapfrogged to a higher level in dramatic fashion when the leagues were restructured. Aiming at a place in the third division, they surprised everyone, including themselves, by placing second in the rankings and winning a place in 2. Bundesliga. Relegated shortly thereafter, they cemented themselves as a fixture in the league when they re-entered it, courtesy of a promotion-relegation win over Hansa Rostock.
Metal music-fuelled German football
Fans of FC Ingolstadt 04 have always had a fondness for metal music, with every home game preceded by a resounding stadium-filling rendition of one of rock's most anthemic songs, good old "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC. Meanwhile, the club's official anthem is a local hard rock number, "Schanzer Herz" by Ingolstadt's own Bonfire, in tribute to the team's nickname, Die Schanzer. The name is itself a tribute, as it is an old term used for German army trench men. The music seemed to work, propelling the club into the Bundesliga first division in the 2015/16 season, where they stayed for two years. A drop to division two followed the next year, and things got even worse when they were relegated again in the playoff, this time against SV Wehen Wiesbaden – a result that saw them falling to 3. Bundesliga. Despite the ups and downs, this is a young and vibrant football club with a very dedicated following, so it's always a good idea to keep look out for FC Ingolstadt 04 tickets on StubHub.
