Born David Adedeji Adeleke in Atlanta, Georgia Davido is a Nigerian-American singer, rapper, record producer, performer and Afropop artist. Since 2011, Davido has been releasing music in Nigeria, winning numerous awards and making his mark throughout Africa and the world.

Davido first garnered success in Nigeria in 2011 with his first single, "Back When," featuring admired Nigerian rapper Naeto C, who brought the song to national media attention. Davido's second single, "Dami Duro" quickly found success, earning him awards from Dynamix All Youth Awards, Nigeria Entertainment Awards and Channel O Music Awards. Davido's first album, "Omo Baba Olowo," was also huge critical and financial success.
Since its debut 2012, "Omo Baba Olowo" has been a hit. Davido achieved this by focusing on the African music scene, which allowed him not only to connect with existing talent there but also to form a bond with enthusiastic African music fans. To make "Omo Baba Olowo," Davido collaborated with producers like Maleek Berry, Spellz, Jay Sleek, Mr. Chido, Shizzi, Dokta Frabz and Theory Sounds to create his signature Afropop sound.
