The Cricket World Cup returns to England and Wales in 2019 as the sport's elite international competition enters its 12th edition. The tournament is scheduled to take place from 30 May to 14 July 2019, with the first match to be played at The Oval and the final at Lord's; the home of English cricket.
2019 will be the fifth time that the Cricket World Cup has been held in England and Wales, following the 1975, 1979, 1983 and 1999 World Cups. England are yet to win the title though (they've finished runners-up three times), while defending champions Australia are hoping to win the tournament for a record sixth time.
With matches to be played in venues as far and wide as Taunton and Chester-le-Street (and potentially at the 66,000-seater London Stadium), everyone will have the chance to see the world's top international cricketers in action. Buy 2019 Cricket World Cup tickets now at StubHub.
The first World Cup was organised in England in June 1975, with the first ODI cricket match having been played only four years earlier. The West Indies won the first two tournaments; India have also won two (1983, 2011); Pakistan and Sri Lanka have each won once; while Australia are the current record holders with five.
The West Indies (1975 and 1979) and Australia (1999, 2003 and 2007) are the only nations to have won consecutive titles; with Australia's treble being one of the most memorable feats in the competition's history.
Australia have played in seven of the eleven final matches (1975, 1987, 1996, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2015), while England – who have yet to win the World Cup – have been runners-up three times (1979, 1987, 1992). Buy 2019 Cricket World Cup tickets at StubHub and be there to see if England can finally claim their first title.
Before the 2019 Cricket World Cup, England have matches against Pakistan and India to contend with in 2018, while the excitement of domestic Twenty20 cricket also returns.
